Hey Mp!
Do you trust yourself to make good career decisions?
Or, do you constantly doubt your thoughts, feeling and actions?
I know...
Because that was the old me.
Here are the 5 signs you have low confidence.
And, one step I took which helped me!
#1: You feel like you always need to prove yourself.
You’re not a newbie.
But you still feel the need to continuously prove your worth - at work, in school, or even with friends and family.
What I did: Created a "win journal" and a list of key tasks I've completed and contributed to at work.
#2: You have toxic relationships.
You accept everyone that comes into your life.
And, choose to invest your time and energy in toxic relationships, people that put you down, which creates a downward spiral.
What I did: Unfollowed people who made me feel bad - and identified those who inspire me and want to learn from.
#3: You’re devastated by every setback.
You see every challenge as a big failure and don’t have the resilience to bounce back.
You feel like things won’t get better - so why get up if you’ll only get knocked down again?
What I did: Identified small steps I could get started with and read inspiring stories that prove to me success is possible!
#4: You call your success “luck”.
You don’t recognise your own hard work and skills. You just got lucky.
You find it difficult to talk about your achievements because you feel you didn’t do enough to deserve them.
What I did: Redrafted my career summary to focus on what I've done (instead of worrying about what I didn't do).
#5: You don’t pursue your dreams.
For every career goal that you have, you’ll quickly find 100s of excuses to tell yourself why you should not go for it.
You’re afraid of failure, therefore you’re also avoiding success.
What I did: Remind myself of the worst-case situation of staying stuck where I am - urgh, that's not what I want at all.
Confidence comes from:
~ Clarity
~ Ambition
~ Action
If you don't do anything, nothing changes.
So, be brave and take the leap! :)
So, Mp, which sign do you relate with?
