Hey Anna!
Have you ever tried DIY-ing something?
For example, trying to fix up something you bought from IKEA?
I did.
Recently, we bought a couple of wooden planks off the discount rack.
Once fixed up, it's supposed to be a useful rack.
The problem was: It came with very basic instructions.
Which is not the most helpful thing for someone who is not experienced.
We spent hours trying to piece together this cheap rack.
It was then I felt like: We should have just paid the IKEA person to fix it up.
Here are my lessons:
Too cheap = Very basic
Guidelines ≠ Expertise & Experience
DIY hours = Time I'm not getting back
DIY stress = Mental health and energy I'm not getting back
Rest assured, I will not be DIY-ing in the future.
If you're doing the same for your career, maybe it's time to rethink.
So Anna, are you a fan of DIY? :)
