Today, January 6th is a very special day for me.
Today would have been my mum's 68th birthday.
If she was still here with us.
One question I still get asked up till today is:
"Hey, Mei Phing!"
"Why did you leave your banking job to become a career coach?"
"You had a very successful career in the corporate world."
Honestly, I never thought this would be my career path.
I started my career as an Accountant and worked at several global MNCs.
I was promoted yearly with 20-30% salary increments.
I thought I'd continue my corporate career for many more years.
Until one day in 2019.
My mum texted me that she was terminally ill (the C word).
At that moment, I decided to quit.
Family > Time > Money
She's no longer with us anymore.
It's not an easy story to tell (again) here.
So, I've recorded it on my podcast and you can watch/listen to it here.
As a personal tribute to celebrate my mum's birthday.
I hope my personal story inspires you to always choose what truly matters.
